Pride and Glory
Pride and Glory
Colin Farrell, Edward Norton, Jon Voight, Noah Emmerich, Jennifer Ehle
Director: Gavin O'Connor
Crooked New York cops have been the lifeblood of cinema for decades and whether or not you fancy Pride and Glory will pretty much hinge on whether or not you fancy giving their sorry and sordid tales another go-around.
There's nothing inherently new about Gavin O'Connor's production. There's a family - led by Jon Voight and including Edward Norton - who have given their hearts and souls to the force and who begin to find out that all in their world has not been quite what it seems.
And there's a testing of loyalties between the family and someone (Colin Farrell) they hold dear.
There's also plenty of violence and some stunning camerawork that vividly captures the meaner streets of New York.
