Mother and son found dead

The bodies of a mother and son, 58 and 29, surnamed Kam and Cheung, were found dead in a public housing flat at block five in Kwai Shing West Estate at about 10am yesterday. Neighbours called for help after smelling an odd odour. Firefighters broke into the flat where burnt charcoal was found. Two suicide notes at the scene said the pair had financial problems.

Paraglider ditches in park

A man and a woman sought help from the Government Flying Service after their tandem paraglider lost altitude and had to make an abrupt, emergency landing in the Ngong Ping area of the Ma On Shan Country Park at about 3pm. The pair were airlifted to Wan Chai. They were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Hunt for trio over bottle attack

Police are seeking three men in their 20s in connection with a bottle attack on three other men at a karaoke bar in Shing Fong Street in Kwai Chung at about 4am. The three victims were admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital. No arrests have been made.

Woman critical after collision

A 45-year-old female pedestrian was injured when two cars collided in Clear Water Bay Road, Wong Tai Sin, at about 4.30am. The victim was first admitted to United Christian Hospital and then transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was in a critical condition. Both drivers passed breathalyser tests.
