A performance that inspires change
I read a news article recently. It was about how a group of mentally handicapped students put on a music and dance performance at a fund-raising event at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
Perhaps many of us think the mentally handicapped are incapable of doing anything and are a great burden to their parents or family. But really, if they work hard, like anyone else, they can succeed.
Many students these days prefer to avoid their troubles, and do bad and meaningless things such as playing truant and taking drugs, rather than working to solve their problems.
The performance I read about is a source of inspiration: don't hide from your problems, and don't waste your abilities and time.
I think, as teenagers, we should all try to find a hobby or something we are talented at - just as those mentally handicapped students did.
