Connecting with teens around the world

Name Lara Reuter

Age 17

City Maastricht

I live and go to school in a little village near Maastricht, which is a lovely old town with a rich Roman history. There is a wall that was built 2,000 years ago.

I'm German but I've lived in the Netherlands since I was five. My first language is German, and I also speak Dutch, English and some French.

I love singing, reading and baking bread. I like almost every kind of music, especially reggae, pop, rap and classical.

My favourite sport is belly dancing because it's beautiful to watch and has a lot of rhythm - you need a very flexible body.

People in my country are generally good-hearted and open-minded. It makes life very pleasant. I'm also open-minded, always cheerful and helpful. I speak my mind all the time, and not everyone likes it, but I have never hurt anyone on purpose.

The biggest festival in the Netherlands is Christmas, which we celebrate like most other people. The most Dutch festival is Koninginnendag, the birthday of the queen.

In the future, I want a job that requires creativity, and I want to live with my friends.
