A former police constable was jailed for eight years after he pleaded guilty in the Court of First Instance to trafficking more than 700 grams of ketamine. Chan Kin-pong, 33, admitted he carried the drugs, valued at about HK$112,000, from the mainland to Hong Kong through Lok Ma Chau in August last year. The court heard Chan left the force after he became debt-ridden from an addiction to gambling.
