OpenU unveils campus
The Open University of Hong Kong has unveiled its new campus as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations.
Boasting two lecture theatres with a capacity of 500 people and 30 classrooms, the 12-storey Campus Phase Two building is part of a major extension plan to provide additional teaching facilities to accommodate an increased number of students.
OpenU president John Leong Chi-yan said online learning would soon be the major studying mode. 'We believe that offering flexible and interactive self-learning is critical to developing quality education.'
Council chairman Charles Lee Yeh-kwong said he was impressed by the perseverance of OpenU students.
'They are willing to study after work and pay for the programmes out of their own savings. I am really impressed by their passion in pursuing knowledge.'
