Down's syndrome test hailed

A non-invasive prenatal test for Down's syndrome developed by a Chinese University team has been listed as one of the top 10 medical stories or breakthroughs of last year by three international news organisations - Time magazine's website, ABC, and The university said it showed biotechnologies developed in Hong Kong could make a global impact. The test was a result of a 1997 discovery by Dennis Lo Yuk-ming, of the faculty of medicine, and his team.
