Man rescued after fall into sea

A 32-year-old man slipped and fell into the sea while walking along the waterfront near Watson Road in North Point. He was later rescued by firemen and admitted to Ruttonjee Hospital for treatment. Police believe the man was drunk.

Woman's body found on podium

Police are investigating the death of a 51-year-old woman whose body was found on the podium outside a public housing block in Fanling. The woman, surnamed So, is believed to have jumped from a height at Yiu Ming House, Wah Ming Estate, at about 11am.

Social workers criticise panel

Social workers on hunger strike at Wu Chung House in Wan Chai condemned a government committee reviewing the lump-sum grant policy for welfare agencies, saying it failed to address critical issues. They called for problems such as different wages for the same post to be addressed.
