Relationship between chef and boss goes past its prime with major beefs aired

Chef Adam Levin is no longer at Dakota Prime - and yes, it has to do with some beef. The well-known cook (pictured) may have started the Lan Kwai Fong steakhouse but, as of about two weeks ago, he was let go by its managing director Chris Au.

Now the relationship has turned quite acrimonious, as Levin sent out a blistering e-mail yesterday to various industry folk and media accusing Au of various not-so-nice things.

'The initial success of Dakota Prime has taken a lot of hard work and planning by me over the past five years,' Levin charged.

Levin's accusations range from issues related to finance, food quality and personal reputation - most of which are far too contentious for us to repeat here.

All of which Au refuted when contacted by CitySeen.

'That's all nonsense,' he said dismissively. 'I give Adam credit for launching the restaurant ... I try to be a good boss but from time to time you have disgruntled employees.'

Au added that he wanted to take the high road, so he would not be forwarding any response e-mails, but he suggested he reserved his right to pursue legal action against his former chef.
