South China Morning Post photographers won four prizes at the annual Hong Kong Press Photographers Association awards.

David Wong took the top prize in the general news category for his shot of a woman withdrawing her savings from a Bank of East Asia ATM in Kwun Tong last September following a run on the bank.

Dickson Lee was runner-up in the spot news section for a shot of a fireman rescuing a child trapped inside a tour bus that overturned while entering a roundabout near Hiram's Highway in Sai Kung in May.

In the photo essay section, Oliver Tsang was runner-up for a series of pictures portraying the Happy Valley residence of actress Lin Dai, a home that has remained untouched since her death in 1964.

K.Y. Cheng won a merit in the sports news category for a picture taken during last year's Hong Kong Sevens.

The pictures were selected from 1,393 entries taken by 81 photographers. There were seven categories.
