This week we test: spring eye palettes

Different seasons call for different eye makeup colours - with the arrival of spring, you can go lighter and brighter.

Coffret D'or Shine Accent Eyes (HK$220)

This palette is wonderful for beginners. The easy-to-carry box features four colours ranging from dark to light, and two mini brushes. There's even an instruction manual to help you to make your eyes look bigger and brighter. Tel: 2865 0978

RMK Translucent Eyes (HK$260)

Girlish and light, this is perfect for the new season. Although the colours look quite bright, they add just a hint of colour to your lids, making this a good choice for those who want something unique but not too dramatic. Requires practice to blend naturally. Tel: 2865 0941

Lunasol Blooming Eyes (HK$350)

These soft colours are smooth and sheer on application. The best thing about this palette is that two applicators are provided, so you have four heads to blend the different shades - and one of the heads is a brush. Perfect for blending and highlighting beneath your brows. Tel: 2865 0978

Dior 5 Couleurs Iridescent (HK$450)

This is really luxurious. The powder is so fine, it's almost creamy. The five-colour palette allows you to create a variety of looks for light day wear and smoking night glam. Although it's pricey, it's definitely worth it if you can afford it. An instructional pamphlet helps you to create movie star looks.

YSL Palette D'Artiste (HK395)

These colours may look strange in the palette, but give them a try - they're oddly flattering on almost any skin tone. And the gold packaging and blue velvet pouch will make you feel like a princess. Tel: 2104 7488
