It was welcome back to the winner's stall for Eric Saint-Martin on Class Five victor Super Bobo and a welcome change of luck for trainer Francis Lui Kin-wai but the French jockey's celebrations were short-lived. Saint-Martin had only returned last Wednesday from a 16-meeting suspension for improper riding during a dirt meeting in December and Super Bobo was just his sixth mount back. So his narrow victory on Super Bobo was welcome but not the careless riding ban that followed in the stewards' room. Saint-Martin was found guilty of moving in and causing a check to Energetic Boy at the 200m as the John Size-trained gelding was making a strong run up Super Bobo's inside. The Frenchman received a two-day ban, which will commence after the March 28 fixture. The win was certainly welcomed by Lui, too, as Alice Too had been his last success in late January.
