Newbies get right down to business

'Business, mate, I'm getting down to business,' said self-confessed Sevens virgin Martin Herman, when we collared him picking up a fresh beverage.

The 46-year-old Johannesburg native had made a 24-hour trek from South Africa on Thursday - and is set for the return trip on Monday.

'It's a tough one, that's for sure,'' he said. 'Everything is a bit foggy today - it will probably catch up with me when I get home. But by then I won't be feeling any pain.''

Brett Levitas agreed. 'We're getting stuck in. 'You can say we're both pretty much full-time rugby fans and if you're a rugby fan this is one you have to tick off your list.''

The pair were wisely tucked away under the West Stand when the action kicked off last night. And they seemed blissfully unaware of the rain that had begun to bucket down.

'Weather?'' asked the 34-year-old Levitas. 'What weather?''
