Who started it? Ohne Titel (German for 'untitled') is a luxury women's wear label designed by Flora Gill and Alexa Adams. The two met in New York in 1999 while studying at Parson's School of Design. Upon graduation they worked for various labels - Adams at Helmut Lang - before reuniting in 2005 at Karl Lagerfeld. They founded Ohne Titel in 2006 - the name came from the untitled paintings of artist Anselm Kiefer. The designers were awarded the prestigious Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation award this year.
Why we love it: Gill and Adams combine sharp, architectural shapes with soft draping and fabrics for a strong, contemporary look. The designers like to fuse organic elements with techno fabrics and the pieces are wearable but also original.
For spring, the silhouette is sculptural with pieces featuring seaming inspired by underpinnings and undergarments. Suits are worn pulled back to expose layers of jacquard knits and sheer trims. Cotton and silk dresses feature cording tracing the outline of the body while fabrics include stretch linen viscose, silky synthetics and a dry cotton knit in a palette of black, white, grey and celadon.
What we'd pick: the grey draped sweater (right; HK$5,750) with soft folds. Also the sexy mesh dress (HK$14,500) under the tailored mesh blazer (above; HK$8,400).
