A refreshing shower is especially welcome as the steamy, humid weather sets in and threatens to drive us all nuts.

DHC Mild Body Shampoo (HK$46/600ml)

This liquidy body wash leaves skin silky and utterly clean. Unlike so many shower gels that ooze of scent in the shop but don't give off anything in the shower, this smells good and leaves you smelling the same. Very reasonably priced, and perfect for even sensitive skin.

Skinfood Orange and Mint Body Wash (HK$150/320ml)

This light gel strips skin of grease and grime, and leaves it clog-free. Minty and citrusy, this is the perfect way to start the day and is guaranteed to put a spring in your step.

Fancl Clear Body Shampoo (HK$85/150ml)

It's true that less is more. This plain gel has very little scent and isn't overly moisturising. But it definitely leaves you feeling clean and fresh, and surely that's what a refreshing shower should do.

Bliss lemon+sage Soapy Sap (HK$205/250ml)

Despite smelling bizarrely like bitter tree bark, this is a invigorating way to start the day. It lathers up like a dream and leaves skin soft. But nothing, not even the cute packaging, justifies the price.

Kiehl's Aloe Vera Biodegradable Liquid Body Cleanser (HK$160/200ml)

So you may never hang out with Brad Pitt, but at least you can use a product he helped to create. The scent is clean and refreshing; the soap does its job. But when you rinse, that wonderful scent goes down the drain.
