Helen has Welsh flying (and wearing) the flag
'The Welsh are not quite as big on self expression as the Scots or the Irish, but when we're winning, we sure like to tell people about it,' said one Welsh wag this week. Helen Roberts was not exactly shy in holding back her rugby loyalty, whether they were winning or not wearing a dress she'd designed herself.
'Every year when I go home to Wales, I bring back a flag and make it into a dress. There's usually a few of us dressed in them. Last year there were six of us. This year the squad is smaller in numbers but larger in national pride after the World Cup Sevens win this month.
'I wear these dresses to the Sevens and the Welsh team barbecue where we usually get around 400 people on the Thursday night before the Sevens.'
Helen was a victim of the credit crunch and recently lost her job as a head of merchandising. 'People say I should market these after the Welsh win in Dubai and a good effort in Hong Kong, maybe I should?'
