Forbes blazes to course record

Claire Forbes set a course record of 37 minutes and 36 seconds in winning the women's race in yesterday's Tolo Harbour 10km. The 38-year-old Briton timed a sprint finish to beat Yiu Kit-ching by just two seconds. Yiu, 21, and third-placed Kate Waller (39:04) ran lifetime best performances for the distance. Men's race winner Thomas Kiprotich had only learned on Friday that his national team were playing in the Rugby Sevens. 'I think they're doing OK this week,' said the diminutive Kenyan, who set a course record of 31.03.
