Wen most recognised, liked mainland official, survey finds
Among Hongkongers, Premier Wen Jiabao is the most recognised and supported Chinese political figure, a University of Hong Kong survey shows. Mr Wen received a support rating of 79.6 per cent and a recognition rating of 98.6 per cent, the survey said. Others on the list included President Hu Jintao (76.8 per cent/97.4 per cent), former premier Zhu Rongji (74.3 per cent/91.1 per cent), Hong Kong-born Taiwanese president Ma Ying-jeou, (64.7 per cent/94.4 per cent) and his predecessor, Chen Shui-bian (15 per cent - the lowest the survey has recorded - and 96.5 per cent).
HK ship seized off Vietnam
A Vietnamese border patrol vessel seized a Hong Kong-registered ship after accusing its captain of illegally 'steering the ship into Vietnamese waters without a licence', the Ho Chi Minh City Law reported. On March 25, the ship was spotted 4 nautical miles off the coast of Binh Thuan province, it said. Ship captain Jun Liqiang, a mainlander, was ordered to pay a 75 million dong (HK$33,400) fine and told to leave by midnight on Monday. Reuters
