Warranty provides desktop support

AST has introduced an ''all-inclusive'' three-year warranty programme for its full range of desktop, server and portable systems in Hong Kong and China.


This programme primarily targets customers who demand a broad selection of technical support services.


Its coverage extends to parts (excluding monitor, LCD display and batteries) and labour, and helps eliminate hidden costs.


AST's customers, who have bought its desktop and server systems since March 1, this year, are covered by the new warranty programme, with three years' free labour and parts replacement services.


All customers in Hong Kong also enjoy on-site warranty service within the country where it was bought.


AST notebook systems bought since January 1, this year, can receive three years' carry-in and free parts replacement services.


During the first year, AST's notebook users can enjoy worldwide warranty protection, and, for the second and third years, users receive warranty service only in the country where it was bought.


The warranty also applies to AST systems which have undergone transfer of ownership.


To enrol in the programme, customers have to complete and return a ''Three-Year Warranty Registration Form'' to AST after they buy one of its products. On receiving the registration form, AST will issue a warranty card.


AST sells its products exclusively through reseller channels and supplements its reseller service programmes with direct end-user support.
