High risks

Apartments on higher floors, and therefore with better views, are generally more valuable than those closer to the ground. However, from a fung shui perspective, having a better view does not necessarily translate into better fortune.

For instance, if your front door opens onto the balcony that offers those spectacular vistas, entering energy will rush straight out, making it difficult for you to hold on to money. Also, you should not work at a desk facing a window because you will be distracted.

Placing your bed so that the sunrise is the first thing you see when you wake up may sound good in theory. But if the head of your bed is against the wall that backs onto the toilet of an en suite bathroom or if you have your back to the bedroom door you will have problems.

Finally, consider that when you become accustomed to spectacular views, they will take on the quality of wallpaper - they will lose their appeal. Opting for a unit with better design may ultimately prove more beneficial.
