Arabian Gulf earned promotion to the HSBC Asian Five Nations (A5N) for 2010 after an easy 44-24 victory over Taiwan in the First Division final in Dubai. The victory means the Gulf will keep alive their hopes of a berth at the 2011 World Cup as next year's A5N elite division competition will decide which Asian team get a direct entry to the showpiece in New Zealand. The Gulf defeated Thailand and Taiwan to win promotion to the top tier which comprises Asian champions Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan and Singapore.
