Hard work is worthwhile

Easter

The Arts Ambassadors-in-School Scheme is organised by Hong Kong Arts Development Council. It encourages students to share the fun of arts and take their passion beyond campuses and into the larger community.

About 500 primary and secondary students have enrolled in the scheme. They will take part in a series of arts programmes during the Easter and summer holidays. They will also have the chance to become radio hosts on RTHK Radio 2.

Selected arts ambassadors will share their experiences in Young Post every week.

This week's artist is Lau Yui-tung, a Form Four student at PLK No 1 W.H. Cheung College

I participated in a joint exhibition at school last summer holiday. I experienced many obstacles when I was creating my piece.

First of all, I only had a week to create a large artwork. I had to spend around four to five hours on it every day. Although this was hard, I enjoyed it very much.

I think this is my best piece of artwork so far, but I hope to do even better work in the future.

My art teacher helped me to submit this piece of artwork to the newspapers, and it appeared in the art corner of a local Chinese language newspaper last December. This experience is very precious to me.
