Drive-through skiing

Just in time for the southern ski season, Australia's first 'drive-in, drive-out, ski-in, ski-out, five-star alpine resort' - you can drive and ski right to the front door - will open in Falls Creek in June. The Quay West Resort & Spa Falls Creek is a collection of apartment-style units located within the new St Falls precinct (stfalls.com.au), a development of retail and entertainment venues that are open all year. The complex offers many attractions and facilities, including an Argentinean grill, an apr?s-ski bar, a day spa, fashion outlets, a supermarket and the region's largest ski and board hire shop. The 63 furnished apartments boast under-floor heating and hot tubs on the balconies.

Exclusive eclipse

To coincide with the longest total solar eclipse of the century, the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo is offering a lavish package for one couple only. It begins with a night in the presidential suite. On the eve of the eclipse, July 21, the couple will fly to the southern city of Kagoshima, to spend a night at a hot spring villa in the Kirishima mountain range. On the day of the eclipse, the guests will be taken on a two-hour chartered flight following the eclipse?s umbra. After flying back to Tokyo, the two guests will enjoy another night in the presidential suite. The Solar Eclipse package costs 15 million yen (HK$1.18 million) for two people.
