Mark Schwab

Senior vice-president, alliances, international and regulatory affairs

Mr Schwab brings more than 30 years of aviation experience to his new role, most recently as vice-president - Pacific for United since 2003 - where he has been responsible for leading the Asia team in developing a presence, including strong relationships with Star Alliance partners ANA, Air China and Asiana Airlines. He previously served as country manager for Mexico and Britain for United. Previously, Mr Schwab was vice-president, international for US Airways, and held international posts with American Airlines. He reports to John Tague, executive vice-president and chief operating officer.

James Murray

Chief executive

Plan International

Mr Murray's responsibilities include establishing the organisation's Hong Kong office, which will officially open in July, from implementing the marketing strategy to driving the donation and sponsorship programmes, and managing the regional government and corporate relations for Plan. A 24-year veteran with Plan, Mr Murray has had a remarkable career with the organisation, having worked on many field projects in underdeveloped parts of Africa and Asia, including the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone, Niger and, most recently, China, where he has spent the past seven years as country director implementing development programmes.

Robert Merrigan

Vice-president, property services, Asia

Outrigger Enterprises

Mr Merrigan directs and controls all of Outrigger's construction projects in Asia. One responsibility is to provide planning and technical services to owners of properties that are under management by Outrigger Hotels and Resorts in Asia. Before joining Outrigger this year, Mr Merrigan spent 25 years in the industry as a consultant, including three years running his own business and two years advising Outrigger Hotels and Resorts on projects in Asia. He spent more than 20 years with EC Harris in Europe, Africa and Asia. He has more than 15 years' experience in Asia and has worked extensively on resorts throughout the region.

Ronnie Potel

Global head, convertible bonds and equity-linked origination

Based in Hong Kong, Mr Potel will be responsible for continuing to expand and deepen the bank's convertible bond origination and equity-linked solutions across Asia and the Middle East. He will report to Deepak Kohli, global head of debt capital markets. Mr Potel brings with him wide experience in convertible bond origination and has executed many landmark deals. For the last four years, he worked for Citigroup as head of equity-linked origination for Asia-Pacific. Before that, he worked for Deutsche Bank for five years in London, Hong Kong and Japan. 'I look forward to working in a team well positioned to grow its business,' he said.

Michael Mecca

President and chief operating officer

Mr Mecca has overall responsibility for the performances and growth of StarWorld Hotel and Casino, Galaxy Macau and City Clubs - Waldo Casino, Rio Casino, President Casino and Grand Waldo Casino. He has a distinguished career in leadership roles with globally recognised gaming and hospitality brands, and will take the company to the next level in its development as a leading Asian gaming corporation. Most recently he was president and chief executive of Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas. He has also held senior executive roles with Station Casinos, Las Vegas, Mandalay Resorts Group, Las Vegas and Caesars World, Las Vegas.

Christine Wood

Head of financial services practice, Asia-Pacific

Ms Wood, a senior vice-president and financial services specialist from FD London's financial services team, has relocated to Hong Kong to head the new practice group.

Andrew Kam

Executive director, shopping centre management, Greater China

Based in Shanghai, Mr Kam will take overall responsibility for the provision of services associated with shopping centre management. This includes the formulation of the strategic direction associated with the delivery of shopping centre management services and the implementation of related mandates. With more than 15 years of real estate expertise, he has been involved in strategic repositioning, leasing, property management, event and promotion co-ordination and shopping centre operations in relation to a series of renowned shopping malls, residential and office projects.
