Some of the world's brightest stars will take centre stage this month in The Hong Kong Ballet's international gala, Galaxy. The performance is one of the highlights of the company's 30th anniversary celebrations.
Dancers from leading companies - The Royal Ballet in Covent Garden, London, the San Francisco Ballet, the Bavarian State Ballet, the Berlin State Ballet and the Dortmund Opera House Ballet - will dazzle audiences with varied and demanding dance pieces.
Madeleine Onne, The Hong Kong Ballet's new artistic director, said the gala would give audiences the chance to see highlights from many different ballets, both classical and modern, and get to know some of Hong Kong's most outstanding dancers.
'The performance will allow audiences to meet some of the greatest ballet stars of today interwoven with our beautiful dancers,' she said.
'It's always a great experience to see the stars, but this gala also gives the Company a chance to showcase our dancers.'
The international dancers include Alina Cojocaru, one of the most sought-after ballerinas in the world, Johan Kobborg, Steven McRae and Roberta Marquez, all multiaward-winning dancers with The Royal Ballet.
