Rent for public-market stalls managed by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department will be frozen until June of next year. The rates went down by 30 per cent in 1998 and had not risen since then, officials noted in a paper submitted to the Legislative Council yesterday. The government last announced a one-year extension of the rental freeze last April.
