Agenda - New Hotels
The Angsana Velavaru in the pristine South Nilandhe Atoll of the Maldives will open a standalone collection of water villas in July. The resort, 1km from the island of Velavaru, features a cluster of 34 InOcean Villas as well as an Italian restaurant and bar. The 'floating resort', in the middle of the Indian Ocean, is the ideal castaway experience and is accessible via either a scenic 40-minute seaplane journey or eight-hour cruise on a traditional Turkish gulet starting at Male island. Glam it up
Langham Hotel has upped the glam stakes, turning a rare piece of Shanghai's old-world architectural glamour into the city's first art deco boutique hotel: the Langham Yangtze. The hotel took over the old Yangtze Hotel in 2008 and, after a multi-million dollar renovation, has restored it to its former glory. It has 96 luxurious rooms and suites, China's first Chuan Spa, and five restaurants including the first outpost of the Michelin Two Star winner - T'ang Court.
