Almond Lee didn't quite know where to look in an action-packed Class Five dirt sprint, with all three of his runners in the thick of the action along with his apprentice Keith Yeung Min-lun. Lee won with Newswire Too (Brett Prebble), who would have been unlucky to be beaten, but also finished third with Noble Zoom, upon which Yeung earned a careless-riding ban for interference that cost the third stablemate, Diamond Flyer, his chance. 'I was lucky that the winner drew an inside gate because he has only run well from those draws, but I was also unlucky that Diamond Flyer was checked,' said Lee. Yeung was issued with a four-day ban for his role at the 1,000m mark when he rolled in on Grand General, who came in on Night Hunter III, and ultimately Diamond Flyer and favourite Fast Winner were the main sufferers.
