'American Foreign Policy Under President Obama' is a roundtable lunch organised by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. With US President Barack Obama having completed more than 100 days in office, a long-time resident of Hong Kong and former US ambassador to Singapore, will draw on his experience at the State Department and White House to share his personal perspectives on Mr Obama's foreign policy. Issues to be discussed will include: how will US-China policy evolve in the Obama era and what challenges and initiatives might we see. Mr Obama was elected during a time of recession, global financial upheaval and the opening rounds of new domestic and foreign policies.

'Green and Sustainable Urban Planning' is an evening seminar organised by the American Chamber of Commerce. Greenhouse gas emissions, global warming and pollution are serious concerns today. In an effort to rescue the environment, eco-cities have started sprouting across the US, China and Abu Dhabi. The seminar will discuss whether these eco-cities are carbon neutral enough given the available technology and what the costs are in terms of people's lifestyles. It will also look at the latest trends in urban planning.
