Name Leung Lok-sze School Diocesan Girls' School (DGS) Grade Secondary Four Sport Tennis

Achievements Lok-sze, 16, won the 2007 Hong Kong National Tennis Championships and the Hong Kong Junior Tennis Series Grand Master girls' 16-and-under title in 2006.

She led DGS to the Inter-school Division One championship from 2005 to 2008. Last year, she won the Girls' Tennis Outstanding Athlete Award, BOCHK Bauhinia Bowl.

Soundbite 'My dad loves to play tennis. I started playing at the age of seven with him and began formal training when I was nine. I joined the DGS team in Form One and has since represented the school,' Lok-sze said.

'I think there are three aspects in tennis - skill, physical condition and strategy. I think my technique is fine and I am in great physical shape. I also have stamina because I do cross-country running. But I need to work on my strategies.

'I have to create the perfect game plan and make adjustments during matches.

'I practise five to six times a week, about three hours each time. I have been doing this since Primary Five so I am quite used to the busy schedule. But, as I move up to senior forms, I might have to reduce my training.' From her coach 'Lok-sze is an intelligent player with good fundamentals,' said DGS coach Gordon Cheung Kwok-wah.

'She is also very calm and has good stamina but she needs to be physically stronger to compete with other Asian players. I think she has to take part in more international tournaments to gain big-match experience.'

Ambition 'This summer, I will go to the United States to try out for colleges there. Hopefully I will do well and get an offer from one of them. I have no plans to become a professional but I want to take my game to the next level by playing college tennis,' Lok-sze said.
