Hong Kong Baptist University's Faculty of Science is organising a photo competition in  support of the United Nations International Year of Astronomy 2009.
The contest - 'Photographers' Eye on the Universe' - is open to the public and the deadline for entries is Sunday. It hopes to get participants to express their thoughts on the universe through their cameras. 
All submissions must be individual, unpublished works that reflect the theme of the contest. The photos should have been taken in Hong Kong within the year leading up to the entry deadline.
Participants can also upload their submissions onto the competition website for the public to vote for their 'Most Favourite Photo'. Digital cameras and cash coupons will be given away as prizes. 
Award-winning photographs will be displayed at the faculty's Open Day on July 3.
