Elderly swimmer dies at Deep Water Bay

A 73-year-old man drowned while swimming at Deep Water Bay yesterday. Friends of the man, surnamed Leung, realised he was missing at 8.40am, an hour after he entered the water. Firemen found the man on the beach. He was taken to Ruttonjee Hospital and declared dead at 9.25am. No lifeguards were stationed in the area where the man had been swimming.
