State subsidies boost PC sales outlook
Resurgent consumer demand and state-backed spending in the rural areas have boosted the growth prospects in the mainland's personal computer market, according to International Data Corp. The research firm says the adjusted forecast for the mainland is 8 per cent year-on-year shipment growth to 42.8 million units this year. That compares favourably to the previously projected 3 per cent growth. The perceived recovery for the mainland computer market is expected to lift unit shipments for the rest of the Asia-Pacific.
