60,000 register as voters after publicity drive

About 60,000 people registered as voters this year after a publicity drive by the government, bringing the total to more than 3.37 million, according to the Registration and Electoral Office. However, because of deaths and other factors, the number of registered voters is roughly the same as it was last year. But the number of voters for functional constituencies has decreased by 3,000 to about 227,000. This year's provisional registers of electors will be ready for public inspection from today until June 29.

Caution for job seekers
