With the wedding dress picked out, the hardest part is over. But choosing jewellery to go with different dress styles is no easy task. From chandelier earrings to diamond pendant necklaces, Loletta Lai,  head of public relations at Forevermark, Hong Kong,  advises on how to choose the most appropriate jewellery for each dress type.
Low-cut gown 
There's no rule against looking sexy on your wedding day, as long as you carry it off with class. Wedding dresses in recent years have taken many shapes and forms, from gowns revealing a hint of cleavage to daring short gowns for long-legged brides. Just remember the golden rule: bare either your cleavage or your legs, but never both.
'Since the decollete is the focus of attention [with a low-cut gown], a big multidiamond necklace with elaborate design is ideal,' Ms Lai said. 
This 20.13-carat  comet-inspired necklace by Larry Jewelry  features 153 diamonds  and retails for about HK$478,100.  
Other styles 
A long, trailing necklace, such as the Cartier Inde Mysterieuse  in platinum with diamonds, will work perfectly with a low-cut dress.
Off-shoulder gown 
Ideal for brides insecure about their upper arms, an off-shoulder gown covers the widest part of your arm while showing off your shoulders, neck and collarbone. Depending on where the dress cuts across your shoulders, necklaces might not work with these dresses, but Ms Lai suggested balancing the neckline with dangling earrings.
'Long earrings with movement will add a touch of femininity and sexiness,' she said, recommending Larry Jewelry's Forevermark droplet earrings (HK$174,700)  that feature 42 diamonds  totalling 7.77 carats.  
Other styles 
The White South Sea pearl earrings in platinum with diamonds totalling 0.98-carat from Cartier's Himalia Perles collection  pair pearls with diamonds for a sweet but alluring look. The length of the drop earrings also works well with the horizontal neckline.
Long-sleeved gown 
Whether you've chosen a long-sleeved gown for a winter wedding or you've simply decided to go for a more demure look, this type of dress can look classic and elegant when paired with the right accessories.
For a bit of sparkle, Ms Lai recommended going for dangling earrings with a 'simple, chic design to complement the conservative look', such as the Chow Sang Sang earrings (HK$41,800)  featuring Forevermark diamond solitaires.  In addition to the dangling solitaires, the angular figure-eight structure is also paved with diamonds for a total of 1.164 carats.  
Other styles  
A tiara would draw the gaze upwards and balance the heaviness of the dress. Chaumet's Le Grand Frisson tiara in white gold is set with 118 brilliant-cut white diamonds totalling 5.4 carats.
High-necked gown 
Like the long-sleeved gown, a dress with a high neck requires a more conservative approach to jewellery. In order to make sure the look does not overwhelm, opt for simple earrings with clean lines.  Loletta Lai suggested a pair of Forevermark earrings (HK$163,000),  designed by Chow Tai Fook,  each featuring a large centre stone encircled by smaller diamonds for a total of 2.6 carats.  
Other styles 
If your high-necked gown happens to be sleeveless, complete the long, willowy look with a wide bracelet such as the silver Langit wide cuff with diamond paved circles from John Hardy.
Strapless gown 
With a strapless gown, much of the attention will be focused on the upper half of your body. Make the most of this attention by showcasing necklaces with interesting designs that reach just past the collarbone.
'Diamond pendants with elongated designs create an elegant, classy look [when paired with a strapless gown],' Ms Lai said. 
This Chow Tai Fook pendant (HK$155,000),  for example, showcases a trio of Forevermark diamonds in a spiralling loop. A total of 156 diamonds  worth 3.42 carats  are featured in this necklace pendant.
