Netizens score victories over government

This week, mainland netizens scored two victories: the release of Deng Yujiao, 21 - accused of murder for stabbing to death an official who she claims sexually harassed her; and stopping a central government initiative to instal censoring software called Green Dam Youth Escort on every computer.

New mainland computers will still have the software from July 1, but it will not be compulsory to use it. Ms Deng walked free after a flood of internet support.
