Aussie Rules legend Kevin Sheedy to share his locker room stories at gala dinner

The Australian Chamber of Commerce has invited the long-time Aussie Rules legend Kevin Sheedy to Hong Kong for a special Australian Football League dinner tonight at the Conrad Hotel. It's the first gala of its kind for the Aussie chamber, co-sponsored by the Hong Kong Dragons Australian Rules Football Club, so AustCham obviously went all-out getting a legend like Sheedy. Indeed, part of the goal is to build the sport here.

In addition to his playing days, Sheedy is renowned as a coach who has been involved in the sport for five decades. His record includes eight premierships and playing in three winning grand final sides. In 1981 he was appointed senior coach at the Essendon Football Club, where he remained for a record 635 games over 27 years, competing in 19 finals series, winning four grand finals and six night pre-season premierships. At the dinner tonight, fans will be treated to locker room stories of his career on and off the field. There will also be a raffle draw to raise money for the Hong Kong Dragons and the AFL's development into Greater China. Tickets are available through AustCham - HK$730 for AustCham members, HK$980 for non-members. Call 2522 5054 or e-mail bookings@ austcham.com.hk. For more information visit AustCham.com.hk.
