Most deputies had advisory jobs

Roughly 70 per cent of the 36 current local deputies to the National People's Congress were once appointed to advisory or statutory bodies, while 30 per cent of the 202 local delegates to the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference were also appointed to such bodies, according to the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau. The figures were provided to lawmakers in response to concerns about a 'second-ruling team' for Hong Kong being assembled through appointments of mainland lawmakers and advisers.
