In a year that may not be remembered by many as a vintage one for International Sale Griffins (ISG), Danny Shum Chap-shing-trained Big Profit has nevertheless proved an admirable, if not formidable, performer.

Five wins in a season is never easy and Big Profit lifted his stake earnings to HK$4,124,875, both very creditable efforts.

Whether he goes on to the heights of some previous HKIS Bonus award winners, such as Scintillation or Good Ba Ba, remains to be seen, but he will probably get his chance at glory in the top-grade four-year-old events.

And his award, as the highest-grossing ISG of his year, will wipe out the memories of 12 months ago for his trainer. Shum-trained Favourite Supreme led the way until the second-last race at the final Sha Tin meeting last season when Danesis won the event.
