If you're inclined to enjoy a tall cold ale or lager at the end of the day, you probably don't need any more incentive to head down to Lan Kwai Fong for its annual Beerfest this weekend. However, if you're a true connoisseur of the brew, then you might want to meet Guinness' global brewmaster, Fergal Murray (left), who will be making an appearance this Saturday at about 7.30pm.

Murray will be on the festival's stage talking up the history of the Irish dark beer, which is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year. He will also show how to pour the perfect draught and probably invite some excitable volunteers onto the stage to try it too.

Now if Saturday's event sounds too silly and superficial, and you'd rather talk seriously with the brewer about his craft, consider dropping by McSorley's Ale House on Elgin Street on Friday night between 6pm to 9pm instead. We've been informed that Murray will be hanging out at the SoHo pub to meet and greet patrons. As an extra incentive, the first 100 people to show up and order a Guinness at 6pm will get a free pint. We knew that would get your attention.
