Three held over cocaine haul

A tip-off led to the arrest of three men and the seizure of 1.8kg of suspected cocaine with a retail value of HK$1.5 million in Tuen Mun. Officers moved in when the men, aged 26 to 34, left a flat in Parkland Villas in Tuen On Lane at about 8.45pm on Thursday. The trio put up a struggle but were subdued and arrested. Police seized 300 grams of suspected cocaine from the elder man and found another 1.5kg inside the flat.

Drugs mule passes evidence

A man on drug charges was found to have swallowed 23 tablets of heroin and tranquilisers to smuggle them into the Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre. A tip-off led to him being put under observation on Thursday, when he was remanded. He passed the drugs yesterday.

Driver hurt as bus hits tree

The driver of a double-decker was injured when his vehicle hit a tree in Sai Sha Road, Sai Kung, at about 12.40am. The driver, who said he had veered to avoid a stray cow, was treated at Prince of Wales Hospital. He passed a breath test.

Falling knife injures pedestrian

A pedestrian, 43, was injured when a knife fell from a residential block at the junction of Kweilin Street and Fuk Wa Street, Sham Shui Po, at about 1pm yesterday. He was treated for minor head injuries at Caritas Medical Centre.

Goods seized as smugglers flee

Police and customs officers seized a van and HK$1 million worth of goods at Tai Tam Harbour, Stanley, at 4am, but 10 smugglers escaped in seven speedboats.
