On style, she rules

The fluorescent nail polish that the stars have been wearing is a brilliant (ha ha) look for summer and I would love to get some in pink to share with my daughter. I've been to Sasa but nothing doing.

Glowing for It, Shek O

The Dictator rules: Hmm. Your sophomoric understanding of fashion will only get you into trouble. Many of the younger celebrities have embraced this 80s-inspired trend. Take the hint, Glowing for It: you might be too old to pull it off. To give out the following information feels a bit like handing a loaded gun to a raving madman, but here it goes: Senda Salon (3 Leighton Road, Causeway Bay, tel: 2832 9422) is your one-stop shop with about 6,000 colours in stock. Chanel's new limited edition polishes are selling out around the world and are only available at select stores (including the one in The Landmark, Central, tel: 2868 5389). Now, we investigated your claims about discounter Sasa's dearth of neons and we found them to be false. At least, we managed to dig out the last blindingly bright pink bottle (by Arezia) from its HK$6 bargain bin. Finders keepers.

Where can I buy Asics trainers? Marathon and Giga don't carry them. I don't really do 'fashion', I just like them.

Run Ragged, Shouson Hill

The Dictator: We're so relieved you won't be wearing them with the latest autumn/winter collections that we'll happily answer the question. For such special trainers, check out smaller specialist stores, such as Rush Sport (32 Wyndham Street, Central, tel: 2526 0620). It carries several styles of the Japanese brand, including the Nimbus (HK$1,050). Similarly, Escapade Sports (1/F, Yee Hing Building, 19 Leighton Road, Causeway Bay, tel: 2891 1855; www.escapade.com .hk) stocks a great selection of sporting gear, including Asics. The local distributor also directed us to Sportshouse (various locations; www.sportshouse .com). Finally, in case you didn't know, Asics is the acronym of the Latin phrase anima sana in corpore sano, which means 'a sound mind in a sound body'.
