Trader faces trafficking charges

A 22-year-old businessman will appear in Fanling Court today charged with drug trafficking after 10kg of cannabis resin worth HK$950,000 was allegedly seized from his travel bag. The seizure was made when customs officers inspected a car driven by a Hong Kong man, carrying several passengers, at the Lok Ma Chau checkpoint on Monday. The driver was arrested, but released on bail. A German tourist and four mainlanders were released.
