Energy-code exemptions mooted

The Environment Bureau has proposed exempting more small premises from proposed mandatory building energy codes. The codes, covering the energy efficiency of air-conditioning, lifts and escalators, lighting and electrical installations, will apply to all new commercial buildings and to public areas of new residential and industrial buildings, and those undergoing renovation.
