A drainage worker, 33, was fighting for his life last night after he lost balance, fell into a manhole and lost consciousness in a sewer in Wan Chai. A colleague, who went into the sewer in a rescue bid, inhaled an unknown gas and felt dizzy. He is stable. Both men are being treated in Ruttonjee Hospital. Firefighters pulled the two workers from the two-metre-deep manhole at the junction of O'Brien Road and Gloucester Road.
