The companies running the Tai Lam Tunnel and the Western Harbour Crossing will not raise tolls despite being legally allowed to under the mechanism governing tolls, a Transport and Housing Bureau spokesman said. The statutory toll for a private car to use the Tai Lam Tunnel will increase from HK$45 to HK$50 on August 1, but drivers will continue to pay HK$30. Western Harbour Crossing tolls, despite legally increasing from today, would also remain unchanged from yesterday's toll, the spokesman said.
