Men accused of attempted HK$1.5m theft

Five men appeared in court for trying to steal nearly HK$1.5 million from a businessman. Taxi drivers Wong Lin-hung and Ip Kam-piu, and unemployed men Poon Siu-wai, Wong Kai-yang and Wong Kwok-leung, aged between 30 and 55, entered no pleas at Eastern Court yesterday. They were charged with conspiring to rob Wong Cheung-ho of HK$1,462,800 from July 17 to August 3. The case was adjourned to September 30. The defendants were remanded.
