Got what it takes to be a TV host? Here's your chance

For all you budding TV personalities, here are two more chances to get your face into living rooms across Asia. The History Channel has put out an open call for a host to do four one-hour programmes on stories from Asia. The show will apparently uncover lesser-known parts of the region and unravel 'secrets and fascinating stories'. They add that the successful applicant will 'win' (as opposed to being paid?) US$10,000. Yes, travel will be required as part of the shoot. Apply at historyasia.com before September 15. You have to be 25 or older. Applicants need to provide a colour headshot and a video of up to three minutes telling a little-known but interesting fact about your city and why you want to be on the History Channel.

At Discovery Travel & Living, the travelogue Fun Taiwan is seeking a co-host to roam around the island with Janet Hsieh. They're looking for people between 18 and 35, as adventurous as Hsieh (below), with fluent Putonghua and English. The deadline is August 23. Applicants have to submit two short clips introducing themselves in both Chinese and English. They also need to provide a r?sum? and two photographs. Full details are at www.nevermissdiscovery.com.tw.
