You would be forgiven for thinking Married ... with Dinner ('the continuing adventures of a couple of San Francisco food dorks') sounds like either a gag-fest in the vein of American sitcom Married ... with Children or a nauseating, mushy blog by a couple who are head over heels in love with one another and with food - especially after seeing the photo (at the top of each page) of the authors kissing at their wedding, their faces hidden by a bouquet of flowers.

Luckily, the blog (marriedwithdinner.com) is meaty enough to stand up to scrutiny, even from a cynic. Cameron and Anita, 'profes-sional writers, amateur cooks, cocktail geeks and avid diners' write about friends, travels and, of course, themselves, but not in a way that is 'too much information'. The focus is on the food: recipes they've tested (from books and websites), restaurants they've visited and recommended suppliers (primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area). The cooking repertoire is varied and includes Korean rib-eye tacos; beer-braised short ribs with wheat berries; Sichuan oxtail soup; Venetian-style pea risotto; gravlax; Baja-style crisp fish tacos; and black bottom pie.
