Charity unveils this year's adventure race

The Salvation Army's Hong Kong and Macau O! Day is inviting people to enlist for the day-long trek, which starts in Hong Kong and ends in Macau. Along the way, teams try to decipher wordless clues to find the checkpoints. This year, the race will begin at Golden Bauhinia Square and end at Fisherman's Wharf with TurboJET ferrying people.

The press conference was held on Saturday at the Miramar Shopping Centre, in Tsim Sha Tsui, with returning ambassadors Ekin Cheng (third from left) and Niki Chow Lai-kei (second from right). The two also accepted a HK$50,000 donation on behalf of the charity for its Taiwan typhoon relief effort from the offices of several district councillors, including Chan Lo Yin-bing, Wong Ka-wing and Leung Ka-fai.

New for this year's event is a category created for teams of just two. Previous races accepted only teams of four. Proceeds will go to the Salvation Army's 100-plus welfare programmes in Hong Kong, Macau and on the mainland. Entries will be accepted until October 24.

All competitors must be at least 18. There is a minimum team donation required, which varies depending on the size of the team and the category.
